Understanding Therapy Benefits

Your thoughts matter

It is so important to understand that you do not need to be at rock bottom to go to therapy. I have witnessed so many clients minimise the reason for coming to therapy. To me the bottom line is....if something doesn't sit right with you and you do not feel complete in an area in your life then talking it through can help you in a massive way.

There are lots of reasons why someone may go to therapy and some of those reasons are not because everything has fallen apart in their life.

Coming to therapy can be for people that want to:

  • understand why something has happened in their life the way it has
  • deal with grief and loss of someone important to them
  • work through a relationship problem with a partner, family member or friend
  • talk about work stress
  • tackle their feelings of anger or guilt or frustration over a situation or subject
  • deal with a traumatic event and its important to understand that trauma can be a breakdown in a relationship, the witnessing of an accident, abuse, loss of a job, a life changing accident or illness for yourself or someone close. If it has affected you in some way it is trauma.
  • gain a different perspective on something that has happened
  • come to terms with worrying about situations happening or potentially happening and the effects that come from worrying (such as sleeplessness, anxiety, snapping at people)
  • come to terms with their past and change their thinking patterns for the future

As you can see there are so many reasons for therapy. If you identify with anything in that above list then I can help you. More importantly I want to help you.

Therapy is for everyone and everyone has a right to get the help and support that they need.
