Prior to visiting you in your home to carry out your counselling or hypnotherapy sessions I will need to carry out a risk assessment, this is for your protection and for mine.
The risk assessment will take place via phone where I will ask a series of questions around
- the nature of your need for counselling or hypnotherapy - there will be certain issues where i will be unable to do home visits until I have established a firm rapport and boundaries between ourselves, example of this being severe anger issues where you are prone to violent outbursts.
- the property where you live and the room where the therapy will take place. I will need to know about exits in case of emergency.
- whether you will be alone in the property at the time of the session and whether anyone else will have access to come into the property during the session.
- whether you have any pets
- where suitable parking is
- whether you have a fire alarm installed
- whether you have any members of your family or acquaintances where there is an ongoing feud or problem
All home visits are logged on a spreadsheet detailing times and areas for safe keeping.
Prior to a home visit I will send a standard message to a member of my team advising them that I am at my destination and the expected time of departure. Should they not receive a message after my departure they will take appropriate action notifying relevant bodies.
I reserve the right to withdrawn my offer of home therapy at any time should I feel that our safety singularly or together is compromised.
