My focus is to help individuals heal, energise, and become aware of their inner strengths. This is achieved this by connecting with you to ensure that you are comfortable and relaxed, listening to your concerns and problems then customising a treatment plan that best suits your needs.
Both Counselling and Hypnotherapy will involve an initial consultation to gain an understanding of what you are looking for.
With hypnotherapy I will write a hypnotic screed around the problem that you are facing designed for you to relax and listen to during our sessions, ensuring that you remain in control at all times.
With counselling therapy I will use an integrative approach to therapy, meaning that I will design a bespoke therapy plan using different approaches that suit your problem and your personality. This will involve elements of Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitative Behavioural Therapy.

Anger, procrastination, fear are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives and often triggered by trauma from the past or a present traumatic experience. Through therapy and talking, I am able to help you recover motivation, perspective, joy and confidence that you once had in your life. I have worked with victims of domestic abuse and recognise the visible and hidden trauma that comes as a result of this abuse.
I can help with decreasing anxiety and increasing self esteem and confidence. I will listen to where you feel you have problems in your life and work with you through a series of confidence building hypnotic sessions or through talking therapy tackling your core beliefs about yourself.
I can help with the stages of breaking of negative habits. I will help you to reorganise your sub conscious to stop them from forming again, this is through getting you to understand how the habit formed then using CBT techniques.
Bereavement, grief and loss is a long journey to go on. Most people will experience loss at some point in their lives. Grief is a reaction to any form of loss. Bereavement is a type of grief involving the death of a loved one. I work with both the grief of bereavement and also the grief surrounded with other types of loss, for example the loss of a job, marriage breakdown or loss surrounding other major changes in circumstances.
I work with you on your journey and listen to the thoughts, feelings and emotions you have and help you to understand them.
I work integratively using a blend of different techniques getting to understand you and your depression before moving onto CBT to give you the skills to manage your thoughts and feelings as you recover from your depression.
I work individually or with couples looking at their relationship, history, communication and attachments. I help by giving a safe space to explore traits that are inherited or developed that can impede a successful relationship both personally and professionally.
It is what it says it is...You walk and talk and I as your therapist walks, listens, reflects, prompts and supports.
Instead of sitting in front of me in a room, the session takes place outdoors in nature. It is counselling in motion with an element of fluidity. For some it can be more dynamic than a traditional sit down therapy session.
I offer a selection of 7 risk assessed scenic routes around the local area. All routes have varying ranges of ease and difficulty. If you are interested we will discuss the best route for you prior to meeting.
Walk, Talk and Support can be good if you've felt stuck on therapy in the past, where something isn't working in the current arrangement. Being physically active helps release tension. It stimulates new thoughts and ideas. You are walking and talking your way forward.
During the session you lead the pace just like in a traditional counselling session. The control is yours, however you and the therapist are on the same footing. Walking side by side can be less intimidating and helps release inhibition.
It can be taken as an introduction to counselling, followed up by more formal type of counselling if you are apprehensive about being alone in a room with a therapist looking directly at you, or it can be used as a change of format for your session to bring forward new ideas and growth.
For some Walk, Talk and Support can help confront issues that they would like to address such as:
QUESTIONS
I do not see myself as being fit, will I be able to do this?
The focus of it is not how far or fast you can walk but on you, your process, your feelings and what you are comfortable with. It is not a fitness session although there are health benefits associated with walking. It is a comfortable walk where you have time to take in the nature around you and talk your worries, fears, anxieties and problems through. You walk at your pace.
Being outdoors and talking about issues enhances the renewal of a sense of freedom. Walking helps to increase the blood flow to the brain, and new ideas to tackle issues are more likely to come up.
How about the weather?
Most therapists practising walk and talk therapy are not deterred by a few drops of rain or a bit of wind, however I will liaise with you in the case of bad weather. If I am unable to offer you an indoor or online session then I would reschedule.
What about confidentiality?
Dependant on the issue I would carry out an initial consultation over the phone, online or face to face. We will form a contract based on certain elements discussed and decide when the walk and talk would be good to start, it may be after a couple of sessions or it may be immediately.
During the initial consultation I will discuss issues of confidentiality and how we will negotiate encountering other people when out walking. Whether it is in a park, by a beach or in town, seeing people walking and talking side by side is a common sight. A client and therapist walking side by side will not look any different.
Please contact me using the 'Send a message' facility. I will get in touch with you to start your journey. An information consultation appointment will be arranged where I will get basic information about yourself and your presenting issue before organising further sessions as required. Please see the section titled The Process for further information.
Mon-Fri: Please contact me. My availability differs depending on appointments. I will work between 7am to 8pm.
Sat: 9:00 am - 12 pm
Closed Sunday
I only take a maximum of 20 clients at any time so that I can ensure that I give 100% to you. Once I have reached this I operate a waiting list or a referral system to another trusted counsellor.
